"Weekend Edition" now available - more content, no bugs, even GRAPHICS
This game, or game-shaped toy, really, was first made for my first TriJam, which was #296 in November 2024. It is a tightly deadlined event with only three hours of worktime allowed. I was doing some games and interactive fiction with Twine at the time, so I chose to do something with that for the theme Schrödinger's Cat. Due to the constraints, I used a lot of info from Wikipedia - the cat paradox itself, the sorites paradox I lean into as part of the graphical representation, etc.
My placing as ninth of fourteen was, while not particularly impressive, not discouraging either, for a text"adventure" piece. I did mean to cram in a few more features and squash a few bugs though, and got around to that in the following January. This "Weekend Edition", as I call it, a polished version of a jam game, now has more content, no bugs, and some visuals.
Perhaps most importantly, it is now available in both the original English and my native German. To those of you who know both, of course not all word plays and jokes made it to the other side but were substituted by equal fun.
Surprisingly, my code was still readable and working with the exception of a going-in-circles problem I got help on Twine's subreddit for. A code snippet had been written by my partner Kalzibar (I know nothing about JS to this day) that generates the lettersoup. The fantastic CormalvaMusic composed the short but diverse soundtrack.
