You wouldn't expect a murder in a house full of ghosts.

You might expect them to hire a private investigator even less. The caretaker may have been old, and the ghosts didn't really NEED him as such, but he did serve a purpose. Someone has to be able to go down to the courthouse once a year to pay the taxes. One of the spirits wants to bring their cushy haunt crashing down.

It's up to you to find out which.

A little glitchy, but I had fun! I don't think it was tedious at all. But I do wish I could've talked to everyone again after the first time, because I have the memory of a goldfish and I didn't quite pick up on all of their names at first, so it took me a bit of process of elimination to figure out who was lying.

I also had a problem where I clicked the menu button and the game glitched out on me and I had to start over. TT^TT

So sorry to hear about the bug - we did a lot of testing but it's hard to catch them all. Can you describe what happened exactly?
Also, yes, it wsa a difficult decision if dialogue could be repeated. Maybe make it a difficulty mode for a full version?

When I returned from the main menu, I think it's intentional that one of the ghosts yells "Boo!" at you, but then after that, I couldn't interact with any other options except to return the the menu. I tried a few times and it never let me click on anything else after that... u_u
I just ended up refreshing the page.

I would say, that it just feels a bit weird that I could go back into their rooms but not speak to them again. It didn't feel quite intentional. But I do understand it's a game jam game and you probably didn't have a lot of time to consider all of the minute details. I still had fun. :)

Haha, yes, I have learned the lesson that one week isn't much for a point&click with such a small team. Noted, thanks a lot. Hopefully there will be time for a post-jam polish version.

This is tedious. I don't think this game should have entered into the Scream Jam 2025 competition.

I'm sorry you think so. Tastes are a personal matter and I hope others will enjoy it more than you did.

No worries. I just don't have that sort of time to dig and investigate and keep track of everything. I hope other competitors give it a fair shake.
