Winter Games
A downloadable game
A small game to print and carry around, and get some winter happiness.
This tiny, social, massive multiplayer (or solo) game was created for a game zine jam by Sticky Institute, who are in Melbourne, and to me, a northerner, it was funny to get the theme Winter in June. After checking, chances of snow seem to be slim where they are. But no matter! You can still have clichéd winter! Even all year round if you are so inclined. What is winter after all but a lot of decoration, calling everything winter-something, and wearing all white (at least that's how they do it in the movies. And arguably, white seems popular in summer as well. But that's not how we do things in this game. You tell those shortsleeved white-wearers they're doing it wrong, unless they're calling it "winter short sleeveness").
This tongue-in-cheek game prints on up to A3. Materials of the original collage include newspaper clippings, vet brochures, a book about Finland (now, I do not destroy books unless they disqualify themselves with, say, advocating minks being kept on grated floors, or other atrocities), and plenty of gift wrapping paper.
